On Sunday, June 3, a video production crew from Whistle Sports (link below), will be out at Waukegan BMX for their single point race to film a documentary on BMX racing and racer Marshall Gehrke as part of their series “No Days Off.” These are the folks behind wildly-popular YouTube Channels “Dude Perfect” and “Bad Jokes.”
The series highlights exceptional young athletes from non-traditional sports. They found Marshall on social media, and selected him and his home track of Waukegan BMX (46 miles north of Downtown Chicago).
Whistle sports has over a million YouTube subscribers and some of their previous “No Days Off” videos have over a million views. So this is a great opportunity for racers to show off BMX to a larger audience.
News wants to help them turnout a large showing of riders at Waukegan BMX, to highlight how much fun BMX is and get as many local racers in the video as possible. Afterwards we will head over the Buelah Park dirt trails in Zion, IL for more riding and video recording.
The track may add some additional special events or prizes that day. Those will be announced over the next few days.
If any companies would like to sponsor a money open, or provide prizes or even just set up a tent at the track, we would greatly appreciate it.
You can find out more info or contact Waukegan BMX on their facebook page “Waukegan BMX” or email email@example.com .
Registration for racing June 3rd is 11:00AM to Noon.
There will also be a free beginner and intermediate clinic from 10am-11am, led by Olijuwon Davis and Marshall. Spots are limited, so check the Facebook page for info.
Come on out and get some local racing in this Sunday, and be part of the fun and filming at Waukegan BMX.
