Ward Village: Fostering community through creativity
Sponsored by Ward Village
Ward Village is a creative community that’s home to artists, tastemakers, and public art displays. HI Now host Kanoe Gibson met up with local designer Jana Lam to check out some of her favorite spots around the area.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Lam is an artist and designer that creates lifestyle products and accessories for an endless summer. Her signature style is all about color, movement and fun! Each piece is designed to bring you a little piece of love and aloha.
Since Lam started her own fashion and accessories brand, her workshop has moved from her parents’ garage in Nuuanu to her seaside home on Paiko Beach in East Oahu, and now to a workshop and retail storefront in the up-and-coming art and design hub of Ward Village in Kakaako. The scenery may have changed, but the dream and method remain the same: to spread her love of all things color and design by sharing her hand-drawn and hand-painted fabric accessories with Hawaii and the world.
