Waiakeawaena Texaco brings gas stations to the next level

“What makes this station different is the atmosphere when you walk in,” said Owner and Operator Kent Inouye. “I don’t think you’re going to find a convenience store that’s designed like this store.”
The Texaco location began renovating its convenience store in September 2019 and held its grand reopening in July 2020. In this renovation, it added its Growler Station and a kitchen and expanded its snack options. The store now includes eight taps so customers can fill their own growlers or purchase them at Texaco.
At its Bayside location on the big island, Texaco also has a drive-thru window where customers can purchase anything sold in the store, or they can go online to expresswaiters.com and get their orders delivered.
Texaco’s convenience stores aren’t the only thing that’s special, though. Its gas includes Techron, an additive that helps keep car engines clean and running for longer while giving you unbeatable mileage.
Texaco also works with Ho’āla, a local non-profit, to help offset carbon emissions by up to 30%.
