USPS officials in Hawaiʻi are seeking to hire more than 600 Hawaiʻi residents for jobs paying up to $20.66 on Hawaiʻi Island, Kauaʻi, Maui and Oʻahu. Job openings include 275 entry-level positions and 350 seasonal positions.
USPS Operations Manager Kevin Nakaoka said the entry-level positions are a great opportunity for anyone seeking a “fast-paced, rewarding work environment with good pay.” “While these 275 positions are not career positions, we hope and expect that every single person we hire will take advantage of the opportunities to advance and become a part of our career work force, with all of the benefits that entails,” he said.
The 359 seasonal positions are ideal for anyone looking to make extra money during the holidays. Nakaoka said these positions are an essential addition to the Postal Service ʻohana during the busiest time of the year for the Postal Service. “They are a key to us delivering a happy holiday to our customers,” he said.
Interested applicants should go to www.USPS.com/careers, click on “Apply Now,” then select “Hawaii” as their location to see all currently available positions and begin the application process.
Entry-level opportunities include positions in the Honolulu mail processing facility and mail carrier positions statewide.
The 350 seasonal positions are as holiday clerks and are located statewide. These positions are for shifts scheduled from November through early January. Starting pay for the available positions ranges from $18.01 to 20.66 an hour.
This hiring initiative is part of the Postal Service’s “peak season” plan. USPS is bringing on 40,000 new employees across the nation, deploying new machinery at selected locations, and redesigning its mail processing and transportation networks in order to deliver a happy holiday to its customers.
