UPDATE/OPEN: Flooding Results in Road Closures in South Maui

UPDATE: Kaonoulu Road OPEN (8:52 a.m. 1.18.21)

Kaonoulu Road is now OPEN.  It was closed earlier this morning between South Kihei Road and Alulike Street due to flooding.

UPDATE: South Kīhei Road OPEN (8 a.m. 1.18.21)

South Kīhei Road is now OPEN as of 8 a.m. It was closed earlier this morning between North Kīhei and Uwapo Roads due to flooding. Kaonoulu Road remains closed between South Kīhei Road and Alulike Street due to flooding.

Road Closure South Kīhei Rd (7:15 a.m. 1.18.21)

South Kīhei Road is closed between North Kīhei and Uwapo due to flooding. Crews from the county of Maui Public Works Department are on scene.  The closure went into effect at 7:15 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021. There is no time frame on when the road will reopen.  Again, South Kīhei Road is closed between North Kīhei Road and Uwapo until further notice due to flooding.  Motorists are asked to avoid the area.

Road Closure Kaonoulu Road (5:50 a.m. 1.18.21)

Kaonoulu Road is closed between South Kīhei Road and Alulike Street due to flooding. County road personnel are on scene. Motorists are asked to avoid the area. The closure went into effect at 5:50 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021.
