Tuxes & Tails virtual event to benefit Hawaiian Humane Society

Sponsored by Hawaiian Humane Society

This year, the Hawaiian Humane Society’s annual Tuxes & Tails benefit is going virtual this year, premiering May 22, 2021 at 6 p.m. on KGMB. Historically an in-person celebration, the local animal welfare organization has reimagined the event and transformed it into a virtual experience that everyone island-wide can enjoy from home. HI Now host Kanoe Gibson spoke with Special Events Manager Christina Morisato to learn more.

An online auction will open on Saturday, May 22 at 6 p.m. where items like dining gift certificates, travel packages, jewelry, fine wine, the chance for your pet’s photo to be featured on a new Hawaiian Humane rescue van and much more, will be available for bidding. This auction will raise critical funds for Hawaiian Humane’s life-changing services.

During the one-hour virtual benefit event, hosted by Hawaii News Now’s Grace Lee and two furry Hawaiian Humane alumni, viewers will enjoy the musical stylings of local talents Henry Kapono, Sistah Robi and Ginny Tiu with Jordan Segundo. The program will also include updates on future plans for the organization and inspiring rescue stories. The broadcast will re-air on Sunday, May 23 and Monday, May 24.
