Brunch lovers, if you’re looking for a new spot to add to your list, look no further than Doraku Waikiki! There you’ll find its new Sake Sunday Brunch menu, and HI Now host Kainoa Carlson stopped by to do a taste test.

Doraku Waikiki opened 12 years ago inside the Royal Hawaiian Center in the heart of Waikiki. And in the past year, the restaurant’s interior has gone through some renovations to update the space.

Doraku Waikiki is most known for its incredible sushi creations along with entrées like the Steak Fried Rice, which is prepared for guests tableside. If you’re looking to have a drink with your meal, you’ll also find a number of delicious cocktails — one of the most popular being the restaurant’s Lychee Martini.

Besides featuring some of Hawaii’s best musicians on Thursday and Sunday nights, Doraku Waikiki also just launched its new Sunday Sake Brunch menu. It’s available from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and includes:

Appetizer Course
Soft-boiled egg, Very “Bear-y” Fruit Bowl, Champagne Shot

Sushi Course
“Roll Your Own” Hand Roll Sushi Station with Crispy Nori, Vegetables, Spicy Tuna, Negihama, and Crab

Grilled Course
Eggplant Miso, Chicken Ginger Karaage, Misoyaki Butterfish, Firecracker Shrimp, Rice

Dessert
Mochi Ice Cream

Restaurateur Kevin Aoki has worked in the food and beverage scene all of his life. An artist at heart, he was born and raised in New York and California. As the oldest son of seven children, Aoki took what he knew best and worked his way to the top of the ever-evolving restaurant industry. Creating restaurant concepts, designing, and running restaurants is in his DNA. Aoki’s Father, Rocky Aoki, founded the legendary teppanyaki-style Benihana restaurant chain. And much like his Father, Aoki has built his own restaurant empire with the Aoki Group (Doraku Sushi, Bluetree Café, 1938 Indochine, Qing Mu) both in Hawaii and on the mainland.
