Sustained Bigotry broadcast on Premier Sports

RANGERS played in a red training top tonight in their smash and grab 1-0 win in Croatia against Osijek.

The hosts dominated the match from start to finish but failed to beat veteran keeper Allan McGregor in The Rangers goal. The Croatians were hit by a sucker punch from a corner and it has to be said it was an impressive move worked on the training field that led to Morelos heading the only goal of the game.

Steven Gerrard and his coaching staff can claim the credit for that goal that added to an unusually impressive few days for Scottish football in European competition.

Last night Celtic defeated Norwegian Champions 3-1 in the Champions League qualifier.

Rangers somehow managed to win 1-0 against Osijek and Hibs fought back from 2-0 down to Asteras Tripoli FC to win 3-2 – with Efe Ambrose starting the fightback with a goal on 64 minutes.

The only Scottish side not to win was Aberdeen who drew 1-1 with Burnley at Pittodrie. Former Celt Gary Mackay Steven put the Dons ahead on the 19th minute from the penalty spot but the English side equalised in the 80th minute.

We highlighted the need for the Scottish teams to collectively do better in Europe early today – see HERE but appreciate that it is tough trying to be enthusiastic in backing such a call when these bigots are polluting the airwaves and shaming our country in foreign lands.

Anyone watching Premier Sports tonight will have heard the undiluted bigotry and nasty songs of hate from the travelling Rangers support, who have been labelled as Scotland’s Shame.

The banned B*lly Boys sing was heard as was the one about No Pope, Nuns, Rosary Beads and so on.

UEFA have previously taken action against another Scottish club (Rangers) for their fans singing the B*lly Boys song so it will be interesting to see if this chanting is reported within the Delegates report. If it is then that will be another Scottish club in bother as a result of this bigot’s anthem.

It will also be interesting to hear if Show Racism the Red Card have anything to say about the latest incidents involving Scotland’s Shame, particularly after the revelations by online journalist James Forrest this week on The Celtic Blog.

As for Steven Gerrard’s side playing a European tie in a training kit, even their own supporters are embarrassed by that, judging by the comments on social media.
