Susan G Komen fights for a breast cancer free world
Sponsored by Susan G Komen Hawaii
Susan G Komen’s vision is to see a world without breast cancer. They take a 360 degree approach through community, action, care, and research. Komen supports the community with breast care helplines, navigation programs that provide up to date research, education and connection for metastatic breast cancer patients and their care givers.
Susan G Komen acts by mobilizing the breast cancer community to advocate for research funding and patient protection. Komen aims to increase access to treatment for those who need financial assistance through their Treatment Assistance Program (TAP).
Komen also funds research to develop new ways to prevent, diagnose, treat, and ultimately cure breast cancer. “We can think bigger and be bolder to ensure that no one dies because they don’t have high quality breast cancer care, or they lack critical information to their health,” says Sheree Loui, Susan G Komen Hawaii Board Member.
The Race for the Cure is scheduled for October 17th and is going to be virtual again! For more information, visit komenhawaii.org or download Susan G Komen Race for the Cure app. Register for the race, recruit a friend, walk, donate, and take one more step toward a breast cancer free world!
