Stamford Health, Health Wellness & Sports Expo in Stamford

Created to fuel minds, bodies and souls, the7th annual Stamford Health, Health Wellness & Sports Expo 2018 promises new attractions and lifesaving health information when it returns to Chelsea Piers Connecticut in Stamford Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 20-21.

Billed as the largest health and wellness expo in Connecticut, Expo 2018 will feature a wide range of health education by Stamford Health, fun activities for children, plusthe latest information, products and services from over 100 exhibitors, according to a news release.

Throughout the weekend, Stamford Health will offer cardiac risk assessments, blood pressure screenings and a special workshop, “Stop the Bleed,” a program of the American College of Surgeons. The workshop will teach the different ways to control bleeding, including direct pressure, wound packing, quick clot gauze and tourniquet use.

The younger set will enjoy the popular Stamford Health volunteer HAHA clowns.

Special guests this year will include WABC-TV reporter Derick Waller and News 12 health reporter Gillian Neff, who will both be at the Expo on Saturday and available to interact with exhibitors and attendees. Jenna Hourani, RDN, retail dietitian at Grade A ShopRite, will provide healthy eating tips and nutritional information.

Attendees can taste savory foods from 18 different restaurants and healthy food and beverage exhibitors at the Healthy Restaurant Sampling Zone.
