Sports 4 Dummies is born | Sports | swnewsmedia.com
When the four sports editors at SW News Media used to gather, it was appropriately called the “sports huddle.”
In essence, it was four guys chatting about their local beats, talking about the Minnesota sports scene, talking sports in general.
Rarely was there agreement. Some had this opinion, some had another thought.
When you have a combined 60 or so years of experience covering sports for local newspapers in Chanhassen, Chaska, Eden Prairie, Jordan, Prior Lake, Savage, and Shakopee, there certainly are strong opinions.
And sports takes.
That’s where the idea for a sports podcast was born. Remarkable it might have been the first thing Dan Huss (Eden Prairie News), Tom Schardin (Prior Lake American, Savage Pacer), Todd Abeln (Jordan Independent, Shakopee Valley News), and Eric Kraushar (Chanhassen Villager, Chaska Herald) agreed on.
Let’s do this.
We recorded our first podcast last week. It will be released on our websites on Friday, Dec. 21. Eventually we hope to be on ITunes for your downloading pleasure.
The concept of Sports 4 Dummies is local, but issue driven. Sure, there will be some area athlete and team talk, but there will be discussions. From favorite arena or stadium to youth sports to the Minnesota State High School League to whatever comes to mind, expect content that will make you smarter on the topic.
Plus I guarantee you we’ll make you laugh once or while. I’m told we’re a fun bunch.
We hope you listen. If you have any content suggestions, please reach out to one of us via e-mail.
