Many people have friends and family on the mainland who they haven’t been able to visit in quite some time. Luckily, you can share some aloha spirit by sending a piece of the islands with some tasty treats from Maui Fruit Jewels! These confections are made with Hawaii-grown fruit as well as local herbs, spices and wines. HI Now hosts

Maui Fruit Jewels was founded in 2012 by husband-and-wife team Chris and Lin ter Horst. When the couple arrived on Maui, the abundance of exotic tropical fruit available at farmers markets inspired them to develop delicious and unique products.

Maui Fruit Jewels offers four different product lines. First came the company’s exotic fruit jellies, which are described as “divine fruit gummies for adults.” These are inspired by the traditional French confection, “pates de fruits.” You can get these fruit jellies in over 18 flavors, including noni, turmeric, and Hawaiian chili pepper. These are packaged in premium gift boxes, making it a great way to share the flavors of the islands.

In April 2020, Maui Fruit Jewels launched its fruit puree line, which can be used to make a number of things including syrup for pancakes or waffles, ice cream, cakes or even mousses. The purees come in four flavors: Lilikoi passion fruit, guava, pineapple, and banana.

Hawaii fruit paste is Maui Fruit Jewel’s answer to the traditional quince paste that originated in Europe. Fruit paste is best served in thin slices as an accompaniment to artisan cheese and crackers, served as appetizers or dessert at dinner. Maui Fruit Jewel’s fruit paste is offered in five flavors: Lilikoi Passion Fruit, guava, pineapple, Hawaii Chili Pepper Pineapple, and Turmeric Ginger Pineapple.

Maui Fruit Jewels launched its shortbread with Hawaii fruits line in 2019. These are rich shortbread flavored with vanilla and also features the company’s fruit jellies from Hawaii-grown fruits. They come in three different sizes: 5-piece, 10-piece and 20-piece gift boxes. Each box contains five different shortbread fruit flavors: Lilikoi Passion Fruit, mango, guava, pineapple, and papaya.

All its products are available at mauifruitjewels.com. You can also find its products at most grocery stores and gift shops in Hawaii, including ABC Stores, Foodland, Whole Foods, Down to Earth, Whalers General Stores, Neiman Marcus, Dean & Deluca, and many others.
