Sponsored by Susan G. Komen Hawaii
Safeway has a long history of supporting breast cancer research and is a proud supporter of Susan G. Komen since 2006. They run month long campaigns with fundraisers that raise awareness to help find the cure. This year, Safeway Hawaii is donating $10,000 to help support the charity in their fight against breast cancer!
The Safeway Foundation is dedicated to bettering the lives of the community. Through the foundation, Safeway donates funds to local non-profits like the Hawaii Foodbank, local schools, veteran programs, disability services, and Susan G. Komen. A lot of Safeway’s associates and stores volunteer each year to help at the Race for the Cure. “We love passing out products to the race participants. We love giving back and showing our community spirit,” says Carl Fukushima, Operations Manager of E-Commerce at Safeway Hawaii.
Many of Safeway’s ohana have been affected by breast cancer personally or know someone who has. Any support you can give in the fight against breast cancer is greatly appreciated by Safeway and their team. Stop by any of Safeway’s 23 locations throughout the state to donate!
