Sponsored by Pohai Nani
Pohai Nani is part of the Good Samaritan Society, which makes its mission of caring for kupuna one that is driven by respect, dignity and compassion. One of the benefits of its Windward campus is not only gorgeous views, but high-quality skilled nursing and rehab services.
At Pohai Nani, seniors can live independently. However, if more help is needed, the staff is able to provide additional assistance to help safely and reasonably remain in an apartment unit or cottage. Pohai Nani also offers care homes and a skilled nursing facility that may be the better setting when greater supervision, routine hands-on care, and care in a clinical setting are needed.
The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Care Center is the 44-bed skilled nursing facility at Pohai Nani. At the Care Center, the staff provides for the highest level of care on campus. The interdisciplinary team of licensed nurses, certified nurse aides, occupational and speech therapy professionals provide 24/7 care of the residents. They care for people who require inpatient short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation, long-term care, as well as hospice care.
Short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation describes the inpatient care that Pohai Nani provides seniors who require a brief period of recovery under the care of medical personnel. After experiencing a medical event and being hospitalized, seniors often need the help of nurses and therapists to recover and improve their condition to even attend to routine things like getting in and out of bed, getting dressed, and showering. It is during this period that the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Care Center can help. After a qualifying hospital stay, inpatient care is often covered by Medicare Part A or other comparable health plans.
If anyone is interested in care at the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Care Center, contact the admissions coordinator at 349-7707.
