No Tsunami Threat to Hawaiʻi After Russia Earthquake: (Update: 8:45 a.m. 3.16.21)

There is no tsunami threat to Hawaiʻi after a preliminary magnitude 6.9 earthquake reported at 8:38 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 off the East Coast of Kamchatka Russia.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reports that an evaluation based on all available data indicates that a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami is not expected, and there is no tsunami threat to Hawaiʻi.
