Natanya Friedheim: Hawaii Education Association honors Hawaii’s exceptional teachers
Sponsored by Hawaii Education Association
The Hawaii Education Association (HEA) is celebrating its 100-year anniversary in 2021 by sharing stories of exceptional teachers in our community. HI Now host Kanoe Gibson spoke with Natanya Friedheim at Kalani High School who happens to be one of those exceptional teachers.
Friedheim is currently a special education teacher. She was a recipient of HEA’s student-teaching scholarship, which was created to minimize the need for teachers to work during their student-teaching semester. Friedheim is also currently in her final semester at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she will be earning her Master’s Degree in Education and has completed research on strategies to promote literacy among students with learning disabilities.
HEA’s scholarships are made possible by donations from community members who care about advancing education in Hawaii.
