Maui Crime Jan. 31 – Feb. 6, 2021: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to seven burglaries, eight vehicle thefts and eight vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Jan. 31 – Feb. 6, 2021.

Cases of burglary increased 17 percent from the week before when six incidents were reported. Vehicle thefts decreased 27 percent from the week before when 11 incidents were reported. Vehicle break-ins decreased 38 percent from the week before when 13 incidents were reported.

Below is a complete list of incidents and the time and locations of when and where each occurred.

7 Burglaries

Kapalua:

  • Monday, Feb. 1, 7:50 a.m.: 100 Hāwane Loop, Kapalua. Non-residential, forced entry.

Kīhei:

  • Sunday, Jan. 31, 7:05 a.m.: 303 E Līpoa St., Kīhei at Kīhei Community Center. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Monday, Feb. 1, 1:54 p.m.: 1772 Halama St., Kīhei. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1:35 a.m.: 1-100 Wailana Pl., Kīhei. Residential, forced entry.

Lahaina:

  • Monday, Feb. 1, 3:33 p.m.: 23 Ulupono St., Lahaina at Aloha Self Storage. Non-residential, unlawful entry.

Makawao:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 2, 10:54 a.m.: 3275 Baldwin Ave., Makawao. Non-residential, forced entry.

Pāʻia:

  • Monday, Feb. 1, 2:43 p.m.: 260 Hāna Hwy., Pāʻia at Jim Falk. Non-residential, unlawful entry.

8 Vehicle Thefts

Hāna:

  • Sunday, Jan. 31, 1:12 p.m.: 19 Hāna Hwy., Hāna at Pāʻia Bay Park. Subaru, gold.

Kahului:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 2, 5:27 a.m.: 200 block of Molokaʻi ʻĀkau St., Kahului. Toyota, white.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 2, 7:56 p.m.: Ani St. / Pōlani St., Kahului. Ford, color unknown.

Kīhei:

  • Thursday, Feb. 4, 2:57 p.m.: 1900 block of S Kīhei Rd., Kīhei. Toyota, black.

Māʻalaea:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 2, 7:41 p.m.: 11000 block of Honoapiʻilani Hwy., Māʻalaea. Jeep, white.

Nāpili:

  • Sunday, Jan. 31, 9:40 p.m.: 4405 Honoapiʻilani Hwy., Nāpili at Kahana Gateway Center. Subaru, silver.

Waiheʻe:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1:39 p.m.: Waiheʻe Beach Park, Waiheʻe. Lexus, gold.

Wailuku:

  • Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1:15 p.m.: Kūihelani Hwy., Wailuku. Scion, maroon.

8 Vehicle Break-ins

Haʻikū:

  • Wednesday, Feb. 3, 8:33 p.m.: Hoʻokipa Beach Park., Haʻikū. Yamaha, color unknown.

Kahului:

  • Monday, Feb. 1, 10:27 a.m.: 200 Kamehameha Ave., Kahului at Ross. Jeep, red.
  • Friday, Feb. 5, 8:13 a.m.: 100 block of Kahului Beach Rd., Kahului. Moskito, blue.
  • Friday, Feb. 5, 8:21 a.m.: 80 Wharf St., Kahului at Young Brothers. Dodge, white.

Kīhei:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 2, 9:34 a.m.: 100 block of Halekūʻai St., Kīhei. Jeep, white.

Lahaina:

  • Wednesday, Feb. 3, 9:53 a.m.: 700 block of Luakini St., Lahaina. KIA, white.

Makawao:

  • Friday, Feb. 5, 6:33 p.m.: 1100 block of Makawao Ave., Makawao at Minit Stop. BMW, white.

Wailea:

  • Friday, Feb. 5, 12:40 p.m.: 10 Wailea Gateway Pl., Wailea at Monkeypod Parking Lot. Daixi Zhenhua Tech Trade, black.
