Maui Crime Jan. 24 – 30, 2021: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 6 burglaries, 11 vehicle thefts and 13 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Jan. 24 – 30, 2021.

Cases of burglary decreased 40 percent from the week before when 10 incidents were reported. Vehicle thefts decreased 50 percent from the week before when 22 incidents were reported. Vehicle break-ins decreased 55 percent from the week before when 29 incidents were reported.

Below is a complete list of incidents and the time and locations of when and where each occurred.

6 Burglaries

Haʻikū:

  • Sunday, Jan. 24, 7:25 a.m.: 600 block of Kauaheahe Pl., Haʻikū. Residential, forced entry.

Kāʻanapali:

  • Sunday, Jan. 24, 10:26 a.m.: 200 Nohea Kai Dr., Kāʻanapali at Hyatt Regency. Non-residential, unlawful entry.

Kahului:

  • Sunday, Jan. 24, 8:49 a.m.: 4655 Kamehameha Ave., Kahului at Central Maui Sports Complex. Non-residential, forced entry.

Nāpili:

  • Friday, Jan. 29, 11:56 p.m.: 4910 Honoapiʻilani Hwy, Nāpili at Maui Preparatory Academy. Non-residential, attempted burglary.

Wailuku:

  • Monday, Jan. 25, 3:55 p.m.: 195 Waimaluhia Ln., Wailuku at Hale Makana O Waiʻale Office. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 26, 6:53 a.m.: 11 Laʻa St., Wailuku. Non-residential, forced entry.

11 Vehicle Thefts

Haʻikū:

  • Sunday, Jan. 24, 9:58 a.m.: 1-100 Manawai Pl., Haʻikū. Mazda, white.
  • Sunday, Jan. 24, 1:05 p.m.: 2300 block of Lilikoʻi Rd., Haʻikū. Honda, black.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 26, 10:59 a.m.: 10900 block of Hāna Hwy., Haʻikū. Chevrolet, silver.

Hāna:

  • Wednesday, Jan. 27, 11:53 p.m.: 4611 Hāna Hwy., Hāna at Hāna Police. Ford, green.

Kahului:

  • Sunday, Jan. 24, 7:24 a.m.: 100 Hoʻokele St., Kahului at Target. Mazda, black.
  • Monday, Jan. 25, 10:08 a.m.: 170 Kaʻahumanu Ave., Kahului at Maui Beach Hotel. Nissan, white.
  • Monday, Jan. 25, 4:09 p.m.: 110 Hāna Hwy., Kahului at Island Honda. Honda, silver.

Lahaina:

  • Sunday, Jan. 24, 5:46 p.m.: Nākālele Point, Lahaina. Dodge, grey.
  • Monday, Jan. 25, 3:51 p.m.: 200 block of Kupuohi St., Lahaina. Suzuki, white.

Nāpili:

  • Thursday, Jan. 28, 8:53 a.m.: 3543 Lower Honoapiʻilani Rd., Nāpili at Papākea Resort. Dodge, red.

Wailuku:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 26, 5:58 p.m.: Kehekili Hwy., Wailuku. Chevrolet, white.

  • Thursday, Jan. 28, 4:34 p.m.: 3900 block of Farrington Ave., Hoʻolehua. Toyota, grey.

Kāʻanapali:

  • Wednesday, Jan. 27, 8:21 a.m.: 30 Hālāwai Dr., Kāʻanapali at Alamo Rent a Car. Polaris, white.

Kaunakakai:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 26, 7:51 a.m.: 1-100 Kahinani Pl., Kaunakakai. Honda, gold.

Kīhei:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 26, 12:06 p.m.: 100 block of Mehani Cir., Kīhei. Honda, silver.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 27, 9:30 a.m.: 76 Walaka St., Kīhei at Maui View Apartments. Nissan, white.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 27, 11:06 a.m.: 1900 block of S Kīhei Rd., Kīhei. KYMCO, red.

Kula:

  • Sunday, Jan. 24, 11:45 a.m.: 1-100 Meakoho Pl., Kula. Toyota, brown.

Lahaina:

  • Monday, Jan. 25, 4:10 p.m.: 1000 block of Limahana Pl., Lahaina. Chevrolet, silver.
  • Thursday, Jan. 28, 5:04 a.m.: Honoapiʻilani Highway 30 / Kai Malina Parkway, Lahaina. Honda, grey.

Māʻalaea:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 26, 5:24 p.m.: 100 block of Māʻalaea Rd., Māʻalaea. Chevrolet, gold.

Makawao:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 26, 11:35 a.m.: 1100 block of Puana St., Makawao. Honda, white.

Molokaʻi:

  • Thursday, Jan. 28, 11:20 a.m.: Kahinani / Kamehameha V Hwy., Molokaʻi. Dodge, grey.

Wailuku:

  • Friday, Jan. 29, 1:18 p.m.: 100 block of N Market St., Wailuku. Toyota, silver.
