Maui Crime Dec. 13 – 19: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 10 burglaries, seven vehicle thefts and 12 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Dec. 13 to 19, 2020.

Burglaries increased 67 percent from the week before when six incidents were reported. Vehicle thefts decreased 36 percent from the week before when 11 incidents were reported. Vehicle break-ins increased 100 percent from the week before when six incidents were reported.

Below is a complete list of incidents and the time and locations of when and where each occurred.

10 Burglaries

Haʻikū:

  • Wednesday, Dec. 16, 8:34 p.m.: 4200 block of Aliʻikoa Pl., Haʻikū. Residential, unlawful entry.

Hāna:

  • Thursday, Dec. 17, 10:01 a.m.: 487 Haneoʻo Rd., Hāna. Non-residential, unlawful entry,

Kahului:

  • Sunday, Dec. 13, 1:56 a.m.: 85 S Wākea Ave., Kahului at Minit Stop. Non-residential, forced entry.

Kapalua:

  • Monday, Dec. 14, 8:08 a.m.: 100 Hawane Loop, Kapalua. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Friday, Dec. 18, 3:01 p.m.: 400 Mahana Ridge St., Kapalua. Non-residential, forced entry.

Kīhei:

  • Monday, Dec. 14, 4:06 p.m.: 300 Ohukai Rd., Kīhei at Kīhei Commercial Center. Non-residential, forced entry.

Makawao:

  • Tuesday, Dec. 15, 7:49 p.m.: 1100 block of Mahanani Pl, Makawao. Residential, unlawful entry.

Nāpili:

  • Monday, Dec. 14, 8:36 a.m.: 5385 Lower Honoapiʻilani Rd., Nāpili. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 15, 3:19 p.m.: 3700 block of Lower Honoapiʻilani Rd., Nāpili. Residential, forced. entry.

Wailuku:

  • Friday, Dec. 18, 12:50 p.m.: 300 block of Naniloa Dr., Wailuku. Residential, forced entry.

  • Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2:57 p.m.: Hāna Hwy., Haʻikū at Haʻikū Community. Nissan, blue.

Kīhei:

  • Tuesday, Dec. 15, 7:24 a.m.: N Kīhei Rd., Kīhei at MP 2.5. Honda, white.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 16, 3:16 p.m.: 2300 block of S Kīhei Rd., Kīhei. Volvo, silver.

Lahaina:

  • Wednesday, Dec. 16, 9:45 a.m.: 100 block of Kupuohi St., Lahaina. Chevrolet, white.

Makawao:

  • Thursday, Dec. 17, 11:00 p.m.: 400 Ehu Rd., Makawao. Toyota, white.

Wailea:
