Now that COVID-19 has created a new normal, many are using technology to do everything from grocery shopping to receiving healthcare. The team at American Savings Bank has now made it easier than ever to bank without going to a branch. HI Now host Kainoa Carlson spoke with Yoshimi Yoshida with American Savings Bank to learn more.
“We’re definitely living in a ‘new normal,’ practicing social distancing and doing a lot more things virtually to keep ourselves and each other healthy and safe,” Yoshida says. “During the pandemic, we’ve seen that more and more customers are taking advantage of our online banking tools and services, as well as our ATMs. By using our digital banking platform on the computer or our mobile app, you can do a lot of transactions that you can do at a branch from the comfort of your own home. In addition, our brand new ATMs offer a number of banking features.”
ASB started upgrading all of its ATMs across the state this past summer, starting with the ATM at the new Kalihi Branch. Among many other features, these ATMs now allow you to make cash and check deposits without a deposit slip or envelope and can even send your receipts via text and email. If you need to do your banking outside of branch hours or on the go, these ATMs are a convenient option in addition to phone and online banking.
These ATMs also allow you to withdraw cash faster than ever before. One of the cool functions people often use on the ASB mobile app is the mobile deposit, which allows you to take a photo of a check and deposit the money directly into your account.
These ATMs will be coming to your community soon if they haven’t already! ASB started installing these back in July and will be refreshing all ATMs statewide with the newest technology. So keep an eye out for a new ATM in your area soon!
