Adapting to home work outs was another challenge many faced over the last year. It can be hard to motivate yourself when you’re alone in your living room, but that’s where a new YouTube workout series can help!
Former HI Now Editor Katie Ann Lange just launched a fun 7-day workout challenge on YouTube on her channel “Workout Plan With Katie Ann.” Each workout is only 10 minutes and focuses on cardio as well as strengthening and toning all major muscle groups. She even provides modifications if you need it, so whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, it’s a great 10 minute addition to your daily routine.
So if you’re trying to work out at home, here are some tips to help keep you motivated:
Step 1: Enjoy the Process
Rethink the way that you imagine exercise. Think of it as movement, and find movement you enjoy! It could be hula, or even walks on the beach! So find something you enjoy that gets you moving, you’re on the right track.
Step 2: Schedule Your Workouts
You wouldn’t just show up to a meeting at work because that’s something you schedule and put aside time for. Do the same for your workouts and make the commitment to your fitness.
Step 3: Set Short-Term Goals
The bigger your goal, the more likely you are to fail. So be sure to break it down into short-term goals that are more manageable. And don’t forget to celebrate the little victories!
Step 4: Get a Workout Buddy
Find yourself a workout buddy. Sometimes the idea alone of not wanting to let somebody down is enough to get you up and moving! Find someone who will support and challenge you.
Step 5: Find YouTube Workout Plan
YouTube is the new workout DVD! So find a plan that works for you and your goals.
