Join Madd Hawaii and help prevent impaired driving with their Walk Like Madd Fundraiser
Sponsored by Madd Hawaii
“Two out three people are going to be impacted by an impaired driver, and every single one of those is preventable,” says Kurt Kendro, Madd Advisory Board Member. As a former police officer, Kendro has personally experienced the devastation and carnage that driving under the influence causes. Madd works to prevent drunk driving on top of providing services to victims impacted by impaired driving.
The Walk Like Madd Fundraiser is set for September 18th and will be held virtually due to the pandemic. This is traditionally Madd Hawaii’s only fundraiser throughout the year and raises most of the funds needed to operate. The event is a 5k, 3.11 mile walk that can be done at home, on a treadmill, with family and friends, or anywhere you feel safe and comfortable.
The first 300 registrants get a backpack goodie bag filled with discounts, coupons, and giveaways to share with family and friends from restaurants, retail stores, and other services. Although the event is virtual, eligible participants can pick up their goodie bag at Kaka’ako Waterfront Park on September 18th.
To participate, you can donate and register at walklikemadd.org/Hawaii, or you can donate $37 in celebration of Madd Hawaii’s 37th anniversary or $100 to a cause that’s 100% preventable, stays 100% in Hawaii, and supports all Madd Hawaii’s programs 100%.
