While you’re watching the game at home, the top priority is always making sure you’ve got great snacks on hand. That’s why HI Now hosts Kanoe Gibson and Kainoa Carlson are in the kitchen with Chef Dell Valdez from Dell’s Kitchen and Bakery.
On the menu today is a prosciutto and shiso wrapped prawn — a great way to elevate your game day grinds! To make this dish, skewer a Tiger Prawn to keep the shape and then wrap it with some shiso. All you do next is throw it into the oven at 425 degrees for 10-12 minutes, then enjoy! Chef Valdez tops this with a soy caramel drizzle. Side note: He says it’s also great on ice cream. A sauce for many occasions!
Dell’s Kitchen and Bakery is the brainchild of Chef Valdez. His love and passion for food and creativity has led him to open his first takeout eatery along with a bakery. Drawing from his years of culinary experience in some of Hawaii’s best restaurants, Chef Valdez has applied those techniques to his interpretation of “Local Style/Asian” food. Layers of flavor, local products, and always with Aloha is what can and to be expected at “d.k.b.”
“Our bakery is what I like to call a little bit of Japanese meets west,” he explains.
You can get your baked goods starting at 9 a.m., but you can also find plate lunches at Dell’s Kitchen. For more information on Chef Valdez’s new eatery, visit dellskitchenandbakery.com or follow on Instagram to see the latest @dellskitchenandbakery.
