California Man Arrested on Maui for Alleged Violation of Travel Quarantine Rules

A California man was arrested for an alleged quarantine violation after arriving on Maui from Los Angeles without a negative pre-travel COVID-19 test and no approved lodging to complete the mandatory 10-day travel quarantine.

John Laurich, 50, was arrested on Saturday, Feb. 6,, 2021 for violating the Rules and Orders of the state’s travel quarantine.

Laurich was transported to the Wailuku Police Station without incident and was being held in lieu of $2,000 bail.
