Corbin M. Donaldson joined Greenleaf Trust as a wealth management advisor. Donaldson will work out of the the company’s Traverse City and Bay Harbor offices. According to a release, Donaldson will be responsible for the development of wealth management plans, goal-based planning strategies and investment portfolio management. Donaldson has a master’s degree in finance from Davenport University and a bachelor’s degree in finance and management from Cornerstone University. Donaldson has more than eight years of experience in financial services.
Holly Gallagher and Amy Travis of Horizon Financial in Traverse City attended a national educational conference for independent financial advisers in Austin, Texas, Nov. 7-10. The conference was hosted by Commonwealth Financial Network and drew nearly 2,000 affiliated advisers, staff, guests and sponsors.
Jared Rapp was elected to serve on the Michigan Spirits Association for 2018-19. Co-founder of the Traverse City Whiskey Co., Rapp will serve as the director representing small distillers. Sam Awdish, of Howell, was elected president of the MSA at its recent board meeting in Novi. Other elected officers included Conrad Haremza, of Commerce, as vice president; Brian Pizzuti as treasurer; and Jacqueline Fonti of Livonia as secretary. Elected directors are Jason Piwko, of Rochester Hills; Kevin Wood, of Raleigh; and George Zrinyi, of Commerce.
Honor Bank has hired Jess Ashmore as its banking center manager of the Garfield location in Traverse City. Ashmore has experience in retail and business banking. Ashmore earned her associate’s degree in business administration from Northwestern Michigan College and graduated from Ferris State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a certificate in human resources in 2013 while working as a banker. In addition to her work in financial services, Ashmore has volunteered for past events like the Kingsley Heritage Days Parade and The Journey TC Back to School Block Party.
Floor Covering Brokers Carpet One promoted three of its employees within its commercial and warehouse division. Larry Stoltz and Mike Makowski will lead the commercial division as co-managers. Makowski has been with Floor Covering Brokers for 22 years in a variety of roles. Stoltz has been with the company since 2012. Rich Budek has been promoted to warehouse manager. He will oversee material shipments and facilitate workflow with installers. Budek has been with Floor Covering Brokers Carpet One since 2014.
