Aloha Petroleum supports local businesses with pop-ups around Oahu

Sponsored by Aloha Petroleum

Calling all crafters, boutiques, snack vendors and food trucks! Aloha Petroleum is supporting small local businesses with Pop-Up opportunities at select Aloha Island Mart locations across Oahu. HI Now host Kanoe Gibson stopped by to visit the Aloha Beef Chips pop-up and get a taste of the local jerky chips!

Aloha Beef Chips has been producing extra thin and crispy beef jerky chips since 2017.

“My husband Randy and I love beef jerky, but wanted a product that was easier to eat, less stress on our jaws, with exciting flavors that we love,” says owner Rona Vasconcellos. “What started off as a hobby for Randy has developed into an amazing beef jerky chip business.”

Vasconcellos says having the opportunity to participate in Aloha Island Mart’s pop-ups will increase their customer reach and help get the business back on track. These pop-up events will make it possible to share Aloha Beef Chips with Alohas’ customers at different locations around the island.

“Unfortunately, like many small businesses, we had two months of no income due to the COVID pandemic. We were forced to rethink the way we do business and come up with creative marketing ideas,” she says. “We appreciate Aloha Island Mart for supporting local small businesses and creating an event to help showcase and sell our local products.”

Small businesses can apply to pop up any day of the week from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the following Aloha Island Mart Aloha Gas stations: Dillingham, Hawaii Kai, Kahala, Kailua, Wahiawa, and Waikiki.

“We know many of our local small businesses have struggled to stay open and find customers during this pandemic,” said Aloha Petroleum Marketing Manager Casie Bui. “We may be biased, but we believe Aloha has the best customers in the state, and we hope these Pop-Ups will provide added exposure and new business for local vendors.”

Participation in the Aloha Pop-Ups is free to all small businesses for the entire month of January 2021. Participation is available on a first-come, first-served basis! For more information or to apply, just email popup@alohagas.com.
