Aloha Petroleum partners with Kapiolani Medical Center to bring joy to children this holiday season

Sponsored by Aloha Petroleum

HI Now is proud to feature Aloha Petroleum as they go above and beyond this holiday season. Aloha Petroleum loves having the opportunity to give back to the community. One of the organizations they’ve supported over the years is Kapiolani Medical Center. They do so much to care for Hawaii’s children, their parents, and extended families. Aloha Petroleum recently raised more than $17,000 for Kapiolani Medical Center through selling World’s Finest Chocolates in their stores.

Customers still have an opportunity to contribute through collection canisters. Now through the end of the December, look for the canisters by the registers at any Aloha Island Mart and make a donation. Aloha Petroleum is also doing a Santa’s Workshop toy drive through December 11th, at all Aloha Island Marts, to collect toys for the children at the Hospital. Drop off a new, unwrapped toy at any Aloha location.

Over 10 years ago the staff and the Child Life Department at Kapiolani started an annual toy drive called Santa’s Workshop. Each year, they put together a wish list of items for infants, children, young adults up to age 21 and moms-to-be on bed rest. Local businesses like Aloha, previous patient families and community organizations come together to collect new and unwrapped gifts and gift cards. They transform a conference room at Kapiolani into Santa’s Workshop. It basically looks like a toy store for parents and staff to choose gifts for kids. Parents are able to shop or choose gifts for their hospitalized child and any siblings at home. Many of the families are unable to shop due to caring for a child or their financial situation. Santa’s Workshop keeps the holiday magic alive and brings so much joy to families.

Kapiolani will also be accepting curbside donations at Kapiolani Medical Center December 20 to 23 from 10 am to 4 pm daily.
