Alexander & Baldwin supports local tenants and keeps Hawaii’s economy thriving
Sponsored by Alexander & Baldwin
Alexander & Baldwin is supporting local tenants and keeping Hawaii’s economy thriving by showcasing some of the one-of-a-kind products and services their tenants provide. That’s why they started “Shop Small Kailua.” A&B wants local people to have fun while helping to lift up local businesses!
Global Village is a great example. The boutique features gifts that you can only find in Kailua, like handcrafted jewelry, dad caps, unique tee shirts, and coasters and tumblers. Global Village has been in business for 26 years and is one of the original neighborhood boutiques. Three native Hawaiian women – a mother and her daughters – run the delightful shop and work closely with other small business artisans and makers.

Lauren Roth’s gallery is another location that you have to visit. Her art captures the vibe of Kailua, bright, tropical, floral, beautiful, captivating and vibrant. She hand paints ornaments (keep that in mind this holiday season!) and she also does custom-sized prints. Lauren Roth even does interior design work!
In 2018, Lauren and her husband Jonathan opened the Lauren Roth Art boutique. Her original works, reproductions, apparel and accessories are on display for all to enjoy. Drawing on her sense of community, it was always important for her to generate the same support and encouragement to other artists that she received as a new and up-and-coming artist. Since then, she has found a whole new passion in working with other artists. Roth’s gallery brings in art from more than 15 different local artists.
