12th Ave Grill Owner Chef Kevin Hanney was affected by breast cancer firsthand. His mother was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 63 and had to undergo treatment and a vasectomy. After the procedures, Kevin’s mother lived to be 93 years old cancer free! “Susan G. Komen has done so much. It’s a very worthwhile cause,” says Kevin.

This healthy cabbage steak dish will blow your mind away! It’s full of flavor and highly recommended ingredients for healthy living. The cabbage steaks are flavored with a teaspoon of mustard, a cup of balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and a pinch of garlic. Chef Kevin roasted the steaks at 400 degrees for 30 min before pulling out and letting cool. For the starch portion of the dish, he made lentils cooked with rosemary and cumin and garnishes with caramelized onions. For the sauce, Chef Kevin purees cauliflower cooked in vegetable stock, bay leaf, and garlic. To finish the dish, he adds macerated cherry tomatoes with diced onions! You can find the full recipe at
